We were part of the founding team behind San Japan, helping grow it from a 900-person, single-day gathering at Our Lady of the Lake University to a three-day, 20,000-attendee conference at the Henry B. González Convention Center. Over 15 years, our work as a board member shaped the event’s strategic growth, community impact, and cultural significance. It remains one of the largest fan conventions in South Texas: and a testament to what sustained, community-rooted effort can build.
